Mary Glenn Keadle - Biography

Meet Mary Glenn

Raised in a small upstate town of South Carolina, I received my first watercolor lessons from my aunt while vacationing on Pawleys Island at age 7. In middle school, I began hanging my Lowcountry watercolor paintings alongside hers on a clothesline to sell in the summers at Pawleys. These painting sessions instilled a deep appreciation for nature and art from an early age, and the opportunity to share my work publicly each summer helped shape me as a young artist. I continued painting in my spare time as an undergrad at Clemson University and also while working on an M.A. in English through a joint program at the College of Charleston and The Citadel.

I'm honored to receive a 2026 Emerging Artist Grant through South Carolina Arts Commission and also have my artwork selected as the 2026 North Charleston Arts Fest Poster Design. Although my solo exhibition at Park Circle Gallery in North Charleston has recently finished up, I'm excited for more events happening later this year!
